Just a few hours spent at the UK's Automation exhibition, which runs from 30th October to 1st November, will provide more inspiration and ideas than weeks of desk-based research

Automation, a highly focussed exhibition which forms part of this year's Manufacturing Week at the NEC, now provides specifiers, designers and engineers in industry with an easier and more cost-effective way of finding innovative new automation solutions which are the key to unlocking the profitability of their manufacturing businesses Just a few hours spent at Automation, which runs from 30th October to 1st November, will provide more inspiration and ideas than weeks of desk-based research

In addition, a visit to the show provides opportunities to discuss requirements first-hand with a wide range of suppliers, and to see automation products in operation.

Automation has been carefully formulated to save visitors time, and to help them obtain maximum benefit from their trip to the exhibition.

All of the exhibitors offering automation products and solutions are concentrated in the same area, making it easy for visitors to find what they need, and eliminating much of the tiring foot-slog associated with more traditional exhibitions.

The innovative positioning of the show as a separate exhibition within the Manufacturing Week portfolio also produces significant benefits for exhibitors, since it concentrates visitors in the area of the stands where they are most likely to be interested in doing business.

As a result, exhibitors can expect to receive more genuine enquiries, and spend less time in processing casual visitors to their stands.

Exhibitors also benefit from the undoubted pulling power of Manufacturing Week which, in 2000, attracted no fewer than 10,393 visitors, 73% of whom came to the exhibition with the specific intention of finding new products or suppliers.

The exhibitors taking part in Automation provide a wide range of products and services.

Among the most important of these are robots, assembly systems, machine vision equipment, sensors, and programmable control systems.

Also participating are system integrators and system builders.

Support for Automation is strong, demonstrating that exhibitors appreciate its status as part of the UK's largest full-range manufacturing event.

Strong exhibitor support also ensures that visitors will have the opportunity to see the most interesting new products from leading UK and overseas manufacturers.

Just a small selection of the companies that are participating in the show includes Mikron, Machine Building Systems (MBS), Rose and Krieger, Hepco, and Sato.

Automation is complemented by three other major exhibitions in the Manufacturing Week 2001 portfolio: Drives, Motors and Controls; the Design Engineering Show; and Production.

All exhibitions run concurrently from 30th October to 1st November, in Hall 19 at the National Exhibition Centre in Birmingham, the UK's most convenient and accessible venue.

The exhibitions are supported by an extensive programme of seminars, and are co-located at the NEC with the following shows: Inspex, Computers in Manufacturing (CIM), Tooling, and Pre-owned Production Equipment (PPE).
