Leoni doubles commitment to ManWeek
Specialist cable manufacturer Leoni Tailor-Made Cables has decided that there is no better opportunity to introduce new and innovative products to the UK than Manufacturing Week
Leoni Tailor-Made Cables has clearly demonstrated its confidence in Manufacturing Week by doubling the size of the stand it had initially booked for the show, so that it can give maximum exposure to the new high-performance cable and tube dress packs which are manufactured by Protec, a member company of the Leoni group "Our dress packs are an ideal solution for conveying electrical and pneumatic power to the moving parts of industrial robots," said Phil Wood, managing director of Leoni, "and they are already attracting a lot of attention

Jargon buster cuts through the ATEX jungle
ABB has published an "ATEX jargon buster" that helps motor users cut through the jungle of terms and definitions that make up the new ATEX Directives.
We intend to use Manufacturing Week, which we believe is the UK's leading industrial exhibition, to introduce them to the widest possible audience, and we have been fortunate enough to secure the loan of a robot from Fanuc which will allow us to do this in a very effective way." "Doubling the size of the stand will allow us to display the robot and the Protec products to the best advantage," continued Wood, "and it will also allow us to make best use of the tremendous opportunities for new business which, as we know from previous experience, Manufacturing Week creates." The Fanuc robot, which will take centre stage on the Leoni stand throughout the exhibition, will be equipped with a variety of dress packs, illustrating the diversity and performance of Protec products, and allowing potential users to see them under real working conditions.
Also on show on the Leoni Tailor-Made Cables stand will be a wide variety of custom cables, and cable/tube hybrids, including types for medical and hazardous area applications.
The exhibits will be supported by the company's experts, who will be on hand throughout the show to offer advice on the selection, specification and use of cables and dress packs for standard and not-so-standard applications.
Manufacturing Week 2001 is made up of four highly focussed exhibitions: Design Engineering; Drives, Motors and Controls; Automation; and Production.
All exhibitions run concurrently from 30 October to 1 November, at the National Exhibition Centre, the UK's most convenient and accessible venue.
The exhibitions are supported by an extensive programme of seminars, and are co-located with Inspex, CIM, Tooling and PPE.
