This information was disseminated by email.
Within a few short months as this flow of information started to gather momentum it was thought that a better idea was to list these links on a web site.
Thus was born the Read-Out Instrumentation Signpost.
Starting with one page in 1995 it started to grow in size and eventually formed into various natural divisions.
Links aere divided into various catagories, Standards, Exhibitions and Conferences, Mail Lists and News Groups, Directories etc etc.
Eventually a news page was provided and new items appear here every day.
Gradually a reputation was built up and now it is reckoned that over 1000 vistors call at the site from over 60 countries all over the world.
The philosophy of the site prohibits the use of the more sophisticated web programs so that that most web browsers will be able to access the site without having to rely on supplementary programs.
Frames are also anathema on the Instrumentation Signpost site! Recently companies have approached Readout with a view to advertising their products or services on the site.
A strict policy has been formulated so that not more than two advertisements appear on any page.
All vistors are welcomed to this uncomplicated site the aim of which is to keep Instrument and Control Engineers informed in their discipline.
