Irish control journal features wireless technology

A Read-Out Publications product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Jan 24, 2006

Automation industry commentator leads discussion on wireless technology in the latest issue of Ireland's journal of Instrumentation and control.

The latest issue of Read-Out (Dec 05-Jan 06), an Irish journal of instrumentation and control, features wireless technology.

In an article by automation industry commentator Andrew Bond, he says that what really "knocked the socks off" potential users at a recent conference were the costings.

And Ian Verhappen, the Canadian automation communications specialist, makes the same observation when he talks about the reduction in wiring costs.

"They're eliminated," he said.

So are we looking at a future world without wires?.

Only time will tell and this issue of Read-Out gives some examples of products and applications.

Also in this issue is a short analysis on the Instrumentation Signpost - who's visiting it and what they are looking at.

There are also short reports, really trailers for the Signpost web reviews on various shows, ISA Expo in Chicago and looking forward to the MTec show in Birmingham as well as an item on the SPS/IPC/Drives show in Nueremberg.

There is a listing of control, instrumentation and automation events in the coming months both in Ireland and elsewhere in Europe and the world.

Read-Out is distributed every two months to more than 2500 named instrument professionals throughout Ireland.
