The current issue of Read-out, Ireland's journal of instrumentation and control moves to Asia for its lead story.

It reports the opening of Cork based process automation service company Zentek Engineering's new offices in Singapore.

Steven Hechtman of Calmetrics discusses web based HMIs as an emerging trend in industry.

Among event reports is one on the Rockwell/Hanley "Automation University on tour" which included Read-out's nearest city on its itinerary in early May.

The usual photographic report on the ISA Ireland Exhibition and Conference in Cork is also included.

The application feature was on the Dundalk Institute of Technology project on renewable energy which has led to a wind generator being added to the skyline of this County Louth town.

Tribute is paid to three Irish automation industry leaders who have been recognised by their peers in the worldwide ISA as Maurice Radford (Golden Achievement), John Lotty (Distinguished Service) and Kevin Dignam (Emerging Leader).

Read-out is distributed to almost 2600 named automation professionals throughout the country.
