A Read-Out Publications product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Oct 12, 2006

The September/October issue of Read-out highlights the birth of virtual instrumentation.

National Instruments marked its 30 birthday by launching a 20th anniversary upgrade of its leading LabView package.

The September/October issue of Read-out highlights this moment in instrumentation history - the birth of virtual instrumentation.

Nigel de Haas, who has particular interest in new technologies that can improve the effectiveness of instrument maintenance, calibration and validation, talks about leveraging unused capability in Hart instruments connected by 4-20mA loops to Profibus remote I/O.

There is also an examination of paddle wheel flowmeters and their use in proportional feed systems by Bill McDowall of Blue White.

Ireland hosted the Ryder Cup in September and although Read-out did not cover this exciting event it did cover the Ryder Cup of the Irish Automation Community - ISA Ireland, which was held in the Fota Island Golf Club earlier in the month and judging from the pictures was enjoyed by the participants.

This issue of Read-out also contains news on new products.

It indicates the events, courses, seminars and exhibitions being held in the period.

Company news also features, with details of address changes, new websites and company expansions.
