Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Sep 3, 2001

Autoplant users can now take advantage of the new design productivity, collaboration, data management and standards maintenance tools in the new Autocad 2002 release

Rebis has announced the release of version 2.01 of its Autoplant Plant Design and Structural Workgroups with support for Autocad 2002.

By supporting Autocad 2002, the new release makes it easy for Autoplant users to take advantage of the new design productivity, collaboration, data management and standards maintenance tools in the new Autocad release.

In addition, the new release offers new features in the structural area such as the ability to import and export Staad files.

The new release also includes new Autoplant Explorer/Explorer ID features such as greatly improved measuring tools.

Autoplant 2.01 is a must for any user that is planning to take advantage of the enhancements offered in AutoCAD 2002.

Benchmark studies show a 24 percent increase in productivity for users upgrading from AutoCAD 2000 to 2002.

In addition to increased productivity, Version 2.01 provides the framework for releasing this powerful plant design package in a wide range of languages.

This version is already available in Czech, German and Japanese and additional languages will be added in the near future.

Improvements in the structural application include the ability to import files from and export files to Staad III, a leading stress analysis package from Research Engineers International, Yorba Linda, California.

A new detail express wizard makes it possible to quickly generate 2D drawings from the structural model.

The new version also includes four different types of Purlin connections to simplify roof modeling.

A new object is available to automate the process of modeling ladders and cages.

Finally, both eaves and ZED shape types are offered in the new version.

The new version of Autoplant Explorer/Explorer ID, designed for visualization and clash checking of the 3D model, also offers significant improvements.

The measurement capabilities of the program have been substantially improved, making it easier to check clearance distances, for example.

A new redlining facility makes it easy to mark up a model without altering the underlying geometry.

Also, clash detection capabilities have been improved by substantially increasing reporting capabilities.

Rebis? Autoplant Plant Design Workgroup applications offer a complete set of integrated software tools for design and modeling of process, power, industrial, and manufacturing facilities.

The Plant Design Workgroup is Rebis' flagship product line, which allows for 3D modeling of piping, equipment, and structural elements.

Autoplant Structural Workgroup is an object-oriented, structural-steel modeling, detailing and fabrication application based on Autocad.

It is suitable for general steel construction and engineering as well as typical Plant Design projects.
