Quadrupole mass filter model available
online
Reliance Gear Company has made its quadrupole mass filter (QMF) computer model available for general use on the Internet.
Reliance Gear Company has made its quadrupole mass filter (QMF) computer model available for general use on the Internet The model allows designers to simulate the performance of a particular QMF configuration and optimise nine basic parameters of a QMF design for optimum sensitivity, resolution and peak shape
Simulation is performed on a cluster of ten high-specification PCs allowing rapid turnaround of results.
The model is a reduced version of Reliance's full QMF model.
The full model is capable of simulating the effects of imperfect quadrupole geometry which give rise to limited resolution and peak shape degradation.
The model can be accessed via the Reliance website.
Users simply enter their parameters into the boxes on the submission form, along with their name, e-mail address and organisation.
Results are returned by e-mail.
