Coupling combines clamp and torque
advantages
Clamp hub gear with cross slit design produces consistent pressure around the whole of the shaft-clamp interface during clamping.
Reliance's standard catalogue range of instrumentation gears includes plain and anti-backlash precision gears and pinions, available in stainless steel or aluminium alloy with a standard pitch range 0.2 to 0.6 module and tolerances up to Agma Q14 (Din Q3) as standard For the miniature component market, Reliance offers miniature anti-backlash pinions with outer diameters down to 11.6mm and for precise, concentric and secure clamp mounting, the firm has developed the Reli-a-Grip clamp hub gear range

Most engineers would agree that the best way of attaching a coupling to a shaft is by using a clamp hub.
Wider gear range than ever from Reliance Gear
The standard gear range from Reliance Gear now has pitches ranging from 0.2 to 1.5 mod metric and includes stainless hardened gears, designed to be used in higher torque, longer life applications
Wider range of shaft couplings announced
Reliance Gear Co of Huddersfield has now enhanced its range of standard products by the introduction of a further range of precision mechanical couplings with bore sizes ranging from 3mm up to 12mm
Initially designed to enhance the torque capacity of high torsional stiffness Reli-a-Flex one piece coupling, without having to resort to set screws, the Reli-a-Grip clamp with its cross slit design produces consistent pressure around the whole of the shaft-clamp interface during clamping.
This brings the advantages of an integral clamp hub fixing with higher torque characteristics.
The Reliance range also includes leadscrews, Reli-a-Flex flexible shaft couplings, racks and pinions, tubular rack actuators, linear slides, shafts, bearings and specialist fasteners.
Reliance is an integrated, mechatronics company supplying precise motion control to the aerospace, military, medical, scientific instrument and high vacuum industries.
The company produces sub-micron machined components, intricate mechanisms and associated components for high accuracy position measurement and feedback applications.
Much of the company's assembly work takes place in its cleanroom classified at ISO 14644-1 class ISO 7 (class 10,000).
Reliance has not only the design and manufacturing skills but also the test and measurement facilities that let the company validate its products and accurately predict their performance in demanding applications.
Modular designs are available for various positioning applications, which the design teams can tailor to meet requirements.
