A wide range of brass reducers and adaptors for use when cabling-up electrical apparatus can be supplied by Remora Electrical Ltd.

Most of these fittings carry dual certification being EEx d/e for groups one and two.

They are suitable for any hazardous or increased safety installation, used either above or below ground.

Dual certification minimises stockholding with one product range covering all requirements, which also eliminates the possibility of supplying or fitting inappropriate components leading to potential safety breaches.

The reducers and adaptors cover interfacing between cable glands and different thread configurations which occur in manufacturers electrical products from around the world.

These include ISO metric threads (sizes M16 to M75) which are now commonly used in most countries outside the USA.

NPT (national pipe taper) threads (sizes 1/2" to 3") used in equipment manufactured in the USA.

PG (Panzorrohr Gewinde) threads (sizes 7 to 48) on equipment originating in Germany, Switzerland and most other European countries.

NPT threads in 1/2", 3/4" and 1" sizes closely approximate to and can be mistaken for ISO metric threads.

However incorrectly mating NPT and metric threads does not form a flameproof barrier and could lead to disaster.

Reducers, adaptors and plugs are supplied with IP sealing washers except for the male NPT threaded fittings.

EEx d/c brass stopping plugs are available in six metric sizes from M20-M75, together with M20 and M25 size plugs in non metallic PBT (Polybutylene Terephlhalate), EExe rated.

A complementary range of industrial reducers and adaptors are also available in nickel plated brass.
