Tolerance rings offer miniature solution

Mounting miniature ball bearings can pose significant assembly problems because the thin outer race is easily damaged.

Mounting miniature ball bearings can pose significant assembly problems because the thin outer race is easily damaged Similarly, the use of adhesives is often inappropriate due to the difficulty of achieving even distribution

A simple solution is provided in the latest generation of tolerance rings from Rencol.

The precision-engineered spring steel fasteners can be produced in diameters as small as 4mm and the assembly force can be designed so as to avoid over stressing the bearing race.

As a result, "safe" press-fit installation is achieved.

Additional benefits include the ability to relax component tolerances and maintain adequate concentricity over a broad temperature range even where dissimilar materials are used.

The rings also allow for later disassembly, if required, without the risk of damaging the bearing. Request a free brochure from Rencol Tolerance Rings ...
