The CNW 703 from REO is a new surge protection filter which is designed for easy installation into existing equipment.

On installation of the CNW 703, a path to earth is generated when higher than normal supply line voltages are present.

As a result, control panel components and conductors are protected in the event of a lightning strike or switching transients.

The installation of the CNW 703 reduces cable runs in control panels and, in many cases, dispenses with the need for additional mains filters.

Furthermore, EMC attenuation for industrial applications is often achieved, with the units bringing attenuation of interference down to approximately 50dB at 1MHz.

Exceptionally even switch-on voltages are maintained by parallel connected varistors and connection can be made without the need for a neutral conductor, for example with frequency drives.

For effective voltage monitoring, control diodes are provided.
