REO now manufactures a range of phase angle and thyristor controllers for controlling the power to resistive and inductive loads.

The 500 series of phase angle controllers are built into DIN rail "snap-on" modules and will be used for variable voltage control to resistive and inductive loads such as heaters and fans.

Three models make up the range and are rated for 2, 6 and 15A.

The MEW and MDW range of thyristor controllers will be used for higher current ratings up to 400A per phase and can operate as current, voltage or power regulators.

These modules can also be used for applications requiring burst fire control, such as induction heating.

For higher power ratings, or for DC rectifier systems, such as those used in the electroplating industry or for cathodic protection, REO offers the MDZ three phase control module, used in conjunction with proprietary six-pulse power thyristor stacks.

Standard features of all the units include ramp-up and ramp-down time adjustment, over-current monitoring and proportional control adjustment to prevent "hunting".

The MEW and MDW controllers can be fitted with Interbus-S and Profibus interfaces.

Typical applications include ovens, dryers, heaters, plastic moulding equipment, extruders, fans and lighting installations.
