Braking resistors for lifts and
escalators
REO has started manufacturing its largest ever braking resistors which are designed to absorb the surplus energy generated by lifts and escalators during their people laden descents.
REO has started manufacturing its largest ever braking resistors which are designed to absorb the surplus energy generated by lifts and escalators during their people laden descents Lifts and escalators have an essential need for efficient braking resistors, as the duty cycle is 100%

REO enhances its range of braking resistors
REO has added a high voltage unit to its range of NTT606 braking resistors.
Furthermore, there is usually a space limitation and the IP rating has to be fairly high.
As a result, REO's braking resistors go up to a 15kW power rating and are encapsulated in aluminium heatsinks in order to provide the best braking resistance for different size lifts and escalators.
The method of construction of the new braking resistors provides sealing up to IP66.
The use of REO's special winding and encapsulation techniques provide an efficient heat transfer to the cooling surfaces of the heatsink.
It is also possible to double the cooling capacity by simply fitting cooling fans, using the fixing slots provided within the heatsink profile.
Connection to a DC bus is made through special EMC terminations. Request a free brochure from REO (UK) ...
