A new free technical guide provides beneficial information about avoiding and overcoming everyday power-quality problems associated with variable speed drives.
Installers of AC variable speed drives are now faced with a myriad of confusing technical issues about filters and ancillary equipment.
Now REO UK has issued a new free technical guide called "Application notes for drive engineering".
The guide provides beneficial information about avoiding and overcoming everyday, power quality problems associated with variable speed drives.
This easy to follow guide, which will be especially useful for electrical contractors and installers, works managers and design engineers, explains about the installation and cabling of EMC filters, line reactors, output reactors, dV/dt and sinus filters and braking resistors.
Readers will also find information about three phase line reactors and their affects on harmonics.
The guide covers compact, flat and footprint braking resistors.
Information includes diagrams, tables, charts, examples and datasheets.
John Symonds, Managing Director of REO, who gives regular presentations on these subjects, instigated the guide.
"Our aim is to help drive engineers and these application notes should provide them with useful information they do not yet know", commented Symonds.
