REO UK has produced an impartial and practical guide to the EMC standard, EN61000-3-2, which gives limits for harmonic current emissions One in a series of 17 guides, this guide offers a detailed explanation of harmonic emissions and related problems

It also provides straightforward advice for suitable testing to meet the standard called up by the EMC Directive.

Compliance with EN61000-3-2 is now a requirement for conformity with the EMC Directive when using the "self-declaration to standards" route.

It applies regardless of the type of equipment or of any generic or product-family EMC standards.

The standard covers all apparatus intended for connection to the LV supply and which consumes up to 16A per phase.

EN61000-3-2, however, has a number of exclusions, which can make compliance complicated.

The REO guide unravels the complexities surrounding the standard to give engineers a good understanding of what they need to achieve, why they're trying to achieve it, and the techniques that are available to ensure compliance.

Illustrated with diagrams, charts and photographs, the REO guide also includes useful information on the causes and problems associated with harmonics.

It will prove valuable to all engineers who wish to have a better understanding of harmonic emissions. Request free introductory details about products from REO (UK) ...
