Chain and coupling ranges to star at the Drives and Controls show from 16th to 18th May at the NEC in Birmingham.

Rexnord UK will be exhibiting its chain and coupling ranges at the Drives and Controls show (stand D80) 16th to 18th May at the NEC in Birmingham Rexpro chain is designed to improve performance and durability combined with green credentials

This will be the firm's principal exhibit, and is claimed to provide financial savings compared with similar duty stainless-steel or coated chains.

It has up to 12% improved wear resistance and 150% higher protection against cold welding (DIN 51834) compared with its predecessor.

It performs eight to 10 time better in the Din salt spray test (DIN 50021 SS/ISO 9227 SS), providing up 100% better link articulation even with long term exposure to aggressive and corrosive environments during use or equipment storage.

It is fabricated from selected steels with all components heat treated in-house.

Manufacturing processes include shot peening for enhanced material strength, high-preloading to reduce elongation and ball drifting with seamless rollers to ensure smooth articulation.

A lubricant-coating is applied after assembly.

Environmentally, the chain uses no heavy metals, no PTFE and no silicon, thereby exceeding current environmental standards (NSF-H2 certification for food industry and RoHS/2005 for electric and electronic equipment).

Other chain on display will include the company's stainless-steel and lubrication-free ranges.

Couplings on display will be in the company's Omega and Viva ranges.

Omega couplings are non-lubricated and torsionally flexible with no wearing parts.

Their angular, axial and radial flexibility come from their polyurethane membrane.

They comprise four components; two axial-split half flexible elements with cap screws and two hubs.

Viva is a general purpose coupling for industrial applications such as pumps, compressors, blowers and mixers.

Its polyurethane split-in-half flex element and radial bolting reduces maintenance costs by simplifying assembly and eliminating lubrication.

Compatible with most alternatives, it is a suitable retro fit replacement.
