Rexnord chains feature redesigned link plates

A Rexnord UK product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Dec 3, 2008

Rexnord's 12B chains now have link plates that are engineered to impart enhanced durability and performance capabilities.

The chains with the new plates include the Rexpro standard roller chain plus the Rexcarbon maintenance-free, corrosion-resistant speciality chain.

The profile of the plates has a broader waistline, which gives a better distribution of stress.

Both inner and outer plates of the chain now have common dimensions (15.9mm) for improved load distribution.

Chain link plates are the parts of a roller chain that determine fatigue resistance and overall performance.

The more even the distribution of stress the greater the fatigue strength, increasing the breaking load while improving chain stiffness.
