Faster approval through EC-US Mutual Recognition
Radio Frequency Investigation (RFI) has been appointed a Conformity Assessment Body (CAB) under the EC-US Mutual Recognition Agreement (MRA), which is now in its transitional phase.
The contract for independent, third party testing will allow inter-lab comparison of results helping Samsung to ensure the quality and accuracy of their own in-house testing.
Part of the contract includes SAR testing, making Samsung RFI's first customer of its new SAR Test facility which opened in November.
Samsung has been well placed to respond quickly to the questions raised through heightened public awareness regarding the safety of mobile phones; SAR testing has formed an important aspect of test programmes for some time.
Steve Dumper at Samsung commented, "RFI's ability to offer a choice of test platform and a flexible approach was an important aspect in choosing a supplier, helping them in securing this contract.
Samsung is committed to on-going improvements in design and is continuing to invest heavily in extensive research and development facilities in Europe and Korea.
We believe that third party, independent verification of our test activities can be extremely useful in ensuring the highest quality of our own QA process".
