Hampshire-based Radio Frequency Investigation is now accredited by the United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS) for its SAR test facility for mobile phones.

Hampshire-based Radio Frequency Investigation (RFI) is now accredited by the United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS) for its SAR test facility for mobile phones.

The accreditation for 900, 1800 and 1900 MHz bands enables RFI to offer a fully accredited service across the whole range of mobile communications equipment for Europe, North America and Australasia.

Joe Lomako, RFI's senior engineer responsible for SAR services commented "We are among the first independent test facilities in the UK to achieve UKAS accreditation for SAR testing.

We are delighted to have achieved accreditation so quickly.

It is an important endorsement giving customers confidence in the quality of our work in this area.

Since opening in November the facility is becoming increasingly busy.

We have completed R and D and compliance testing work on behalf of Samsung and five other blue-chip companies.

In addition to UKAS accredited mobile communications equipment services we are able to offer unaccredited services for radio modules for research and development purposes." RFI's SAR facility was officially opened in November by Sir William Stewart, author of the Government commissioned 'Stewart Report' and Chairman of the Independent Expert Group for Mobile Phones.
