Radio Frequency Investigation (RFI) has expanded its Board of Directors following a strategic review which is set to radically change the company's business focus in the next two years.

Brian Watson, a founder member of RFI and currently operations director, has been appointed director of business development.

Richard Jacklin, head of RFI's mobile communications group will step into Brian's shoes as director of operations and will oversee the direction of EMC, radio, microwave and mobile communications groups.

The appointments were effective from 1 January 2001.

RFI's future plans include the launch of a Solutions Group which will deliver a range of new services to help the continued growth of the wireless and technology industries.

These activities will complement RFI's existing regulatory services covering radio, microwave, EMC, telecommunications testing and compliance activities.

High on the development list for the Solutions Group are consultancy services to support 3G roll-out, services for Bluetooth product integration and applications to support the growing SmartCard industry.
