Remote control transmitters need no licence
RF Solutions has launched a series of rugged, licence-exempt hand-held radio transmitter encoders for remote control applications designed to operate in harsh and outdoor environments
Both the M433MCLT and M433MCProIP are housed in compact, durable, aluminium enclosures.
The latter features enhancements to achieve an IP65 rating, making it suitable for the harshest environments.
The modems that operate at 433MHz and have a line of sight range of approximately 1000 metres use a highly accurate synthesized RF design that helps to ensure continuity of data being sent.
Communication is through a serial data link that is fully programmable for Baud rates of between 1200 and 38400.
The radio data transmission speed itself is can also be programmed for either 20k Bits/s, 35k Bits/s or 40k Bits/s.
The units communicate through a standard RS-232, RS485 or RS422 serial link.
A dc supply of between 8 and 40V is required to power the new modems, which have an operating temperature range of 0C to +50C in standard format and -20C to +70C in heavy-duty format.
In addition to being network configurable the modems also feature a repeater facility for extended range capability and a standard Hayes Command Set.
A CD ROM is supplied with each unit, this contains a complete ASCII programming message package to enable integration of the modem within a serial link, plus Windows PC test and configuration software.
