The RTFQ1 and RRFQ1 transmitter and receiver pair from RF Solutions enables the simple implementation of an economical FM radio datalink.

The RTFQ1 and RRFQ1 transmitter and receiver pair from RF Solutions enables the simple implementation of an economical FM radio datalink.

The modules suit both one-to-one and multinode applications such as car and building security, EPOS and inventory tracking.

The miniature hybrid modules which are available in both 433.92MHz and 315MHz versions, achieve datarates up to 4.8Kbit/s over distances up to 75m indoors and 250m across open ground.

Small physical size and low power requirements make them particularly suited to portable, battery powered applications.

The modules have a laser trimmed thick-film ceramic hybrid construction that enables them to exhibit extremely stable electronic characteristics across an operating temperature range of -20 to +85C.

There are no adjustable components in the design further simplifying implementation.

Power supply requirements for the RTFQ1 transmitter are 3V.

The PCB is configured as a DIL package and measures just 20.3 x 11.4mm.

The RRFQ1 receiver is a 38 x 18.3mm SIL package and requires a 5V supply in operating mode.

The module also has a power-saving 0V, 100nA standby mode.

Other key features of the receiver include a PLL crystal design and CMOS/TTL output.
