Rietschle's Zephyr multi-claw series are highly efficient, dry-running pressure/vacuum pumps, air compressors, and vacuum pumps, with applications across industry.
These twin-shaft, rotary claw units generate frictionless vacuum and/or pressure, offering an economic alternative to dry-running rotary vane or single claw rotary pumps.
Unlike traditional rotary lobe designs, their high operating efficiency - and hence low installed motor power, is achieved by internal compression of the gas.
The multi-claw has no (wear sensitive) discharge valves, since the rotation of the claws opens and closes the suction and discharge channels.
At the heart of the Zephyr KLR pressure/vacuum pump, is a patented, three lobe claw system, which makes it the first claw pump capable of producing pressure and vacuum in a single stage.
Combining this innovative claw with intermediate suction ports creates a highly efficient pressure/vacuum design, and unlike single claw pumps, it offers constant compression.
The triple-lobe claw also dampens pulsation in the suction and discharge pipe work: further reducing the noise level of the pump.
Like all Zephyr multi-claw designs, the KLR requires minimum maintenance, since the contra-rotating claws operate without contact.
Fine tolerances are maintained by a high precision gear drive and hence, neither lubrication, nor wearing part replacements are needed in the pump chamber.
The new Zephyr KLR offers vacuum up to 600 mbar (abs), and pressure up to 1 bar overpressure, simultaneously, during continuous operation.
High efficiency is achieved over the whole pressure range, with five models offering nominal capacities from 100m3/hour to 500 m3/hour.
Optional versions are available with an integral frequency converter to exactly adjust capacity and vacuum/pressure, to customer requirements.
In addition to the patented three-lobe claw design, Rietschle is introducing dedicated multi-claw compressors and vacuum pumps, each available in five models with the same nominal capacities as the KLR.
Range.
The Zephyr DLR is a range of twin-lobe, claw compressors, producing oil-free and dust-free compressed air.
High differential pressures up to 2.2 bar(g) are attained at pressure operation.
Compared with traditional double bearing pumps, the overhung rotor configuration of the DLR reduces its complexity and the number of parts required.
This makes for a compact and space saving unit, and it also reduces maintenance since there are no bearings to grease.
Zephyr VLR twin-lobe claw vacuum pumps have all the engineering features of the compressor range.
The same robust enclosure houses the pump, reducing noise levels and directing the flow of circulating air from the integrated cooling air system.
Operating efficiencies of 60% and better are typical, and maintenance is limited to checking oil levels and maintaining the air inlet filter.
Five basic VLR vacuum pump models offer vacuum up to 100 mbar (abs).
