Gearboxes offer high output torque
The one-piece monoblock housing of Yilmaz gearboxes offers excellent strength, high levels of rigidity, low operating noise levels and oil integrity.
A new range of "power dense" worm gearboxes has been introduced to the UK by the Pumps and Ancillaries Division of the Richard Alan group The worm boxes are from Turkish manufacturer, Yilmaz Reduktor
Manufactured under ISO9001 conditions to deliver high-quality and reliability, they offer the highest possible output torque (up to 2600Nm) from the smallest possible envelope.
This is the result of the high efficiency of the design (worm/worm wheel and monoblock housing), and the effectiveness of the cooling options available.
Supplied with a two-year warranty, and TUV-certified, the Yilmaz worm boxes provide OEMs with a well-engineered and extremely price-competitive option, especially when delivered by the Pumps and Ancillaries Division as an integrated package with Gamak The Yilmaz worm gearboxes have a standard European footprint, which means that they interchange directly with most of the leading makes of worm gearboxes on the market.
Yilmaz gearboxes offer high levels of reliability and strength from the design synergy of a one-piece monoblock housing and optimised worm gear pair; the latter combining a hardened and ground cylindrical worm (21NiCrMo2) and phosphorous bronze worm wheel (Gz12SnCuNi), to provide not only maximum strength, but also the highest efficiency (from 76% to 92% depending upon size).
The one-piece monoblock housing also offers excellent strength, high levels of rigidity, low operating noise levels and oil integrity.
With the monoblock design, all bearings within the gearboxes are supported by the housing itself, and not by cover plates.
All axis are machined at the same mounting plate, which gives high precision on all axis with very tight tolerances.
Consolidating these advantages, the monoblock design also delivers improved bearing and gear life and the facility for multistage units and overhung loads.
An additional benefit of the Yilmaz design is that the middle bearing support plate of the worm gearboxes is integrally cast, providing optimum support for bearings used in three-stage gearboxes.
This feature also makes possible the support of gears close to and from both sides of the plate.
As a result, run-out and deformation from dynamic loads is minimised, together with operating noise.
As well as providing substantial operational advantages, the Yilmaz worm boxes are flexible to configure and easy to mount.
Alternative foot mounting positions from all sides provide flexible assembly conditions, while IEC B14 or B5 flanges enable easy input connection of AC squirrel cage drive motors, and also simplified connection of the worm gear output.
The Yilmaz worm gearboxes are supported by wide range of options including: ATEX specification; extended and hollow shafts; strengthened or extended bearing arrangements for high radial load or agitator applications; forced lubrication systems; synthetic lubricants; shrink disks; brakes; variable speed drives and IEC frame bespoke motors.
In addition, the Pumps and Ancillaries division has extensive CNC machining capabilities, which means that the flexibility of the customer-specific build approach is extended further in respect of special shafts and mountings.
