As an aid to this, the force has introduced an Internet kiosk that provides free access to the constabulary's award-winning website.
Links to other sites with local information are also available, including the hospital, traffic information, the council and many more.
Visitors to the police station are also able to report crimes and give information to Crimestoppers confidentially.
Information is also available about crimes in various areas and there is advice on what to do in certain situations.
A spokesman said: "We have tried to make the new area as welcoming as possible and we have installed many new facilities which will increase public reassurance and make police enquiries a much simpler and more accessible process".
Kiosks are essential tools in helping bridge the gap in delivering online content to people that have no Internet access at home or in their workplace.
