3D software aids enclosure specification

Rittal's new RiCAD-3D software supports the creation of models to provide a complete 3D picture of Rittal products with the visualisation, layout and spacing of single components.

Rittal's new RiCAD-3D software supports the creation of models to provide a complete 3D picture of Rittal products with the visualisation, layout and spacing of single components Many projects require a 3D internal and external view of objects such as wall and freestanding enclosure systems

3D views of the accessories within an enclosure allow positioning and spacing of rail or mounted equipment, cable trunking runs and the cable entry space required.

The RiCAD 3D database covers the following TS 8 products: baying systems; electronic enclosures; enclosures for modular front design; corner enclosures as well as selected SK TopTherm cooling systems and system accessories to fit the housing and enclosure systems.

RiCAD 3D offers the following benefits: 3D models of Rittal products can be integrated into complex machine designs; the files are generated in the original format of the customer's CAD system without conversion; detailing can be set at three levels for enclosures and the customer can "install" comprehensive accessories directly on the design system.

Basic information such as model and designations are included in the 3D models and the CAD files can be accessed worldwide.

This Rittal 3D data will also interface with Eplan Product eCabinet, allowing Eplan designed mounting plate layouts to be converted to 3D views to check for collisions between components and the enclosure door. Request a free brochure from Rittal ...
