RuleStream Corp has appointed Robert Nierman as the company's Chief Executive Officer.

Nierman, the former CEO and a founder of Metaphase Technologies, has held top executive positions at SDRC, Engineering Animation and UGS.

Nierman's appointment accelerates RuleStream's efforts to capitalise on new opportunities that have been created through the emergence and rapid growth of rules-driven product management (RPM).

Nierman will guide RuleStream's strategic direction, with an emphasis on expanding partnerships and alliances, as the company continues to grow its customer base and extend its technology leadership.

Nierman will work closely with RuleStream cofounder David Vredenburgh, who will serve as Chief Operating Officer and Chief Technology Officer for the company.

"Bob's skills, experience and track record of success in the engineering software industry will help RuleStream extend the reach of RPM and expand our position as market leader", said Vredenburgh.

"His understanding of the market dynamics made him the ideal choice for RuleStream".

"Bob will lead RuleStream's expansion into the automotive, aerospace, and architecture, engineering and construction (AEC) markets, building on our success in fabrication and assembly manufacturing".

Nierman served as President and Chief Operating Officer of EAI, successfully repositioning the company for revenue growth prior to its acquisition by UGS.

Nierman subsequently held several executive management roles at EDS and UGS, including President of Global Automotive Operations.

Prior to EAI, Nierman was Chief Operating Officer and Executive Vice President at SDRC, having successfully led Metaphase from its inception through its market leadership and acquisition by SDRC.

Nierman served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Metaphase.
