Big housing estate order for burner system
The London Borough of Lambeth, through its Design Technical Services department, is the first UK customer to specify Riello's new Modubloc burner for gas-fired central heating
The RB Booster Series consists of four models designated RB100 through RB400, which cover the entire Riello mono-block burner operating range and provide flow rates of up to 1,025 cubic metres per hour, measured at a pressure lift of 57 millibars.
Choosing the right booster for an application is straightforward - deduct the available gas mains pressure from that required at the burner to determine the pressure lift needed, then select the smallest booster that will achieve this output.
Boosters may be run in parallel to provide backup on critical installations, and where pressure requirements or space/layout limitations dictate.
Nominal guaranteed gas supply pressure in the UK is 18-20 mbar, and is subject to fluctuation particularly in urban areas during times of peak demand.
While this is not normally a problem for Riello burners up to 1 MW output, larger installations require a higher, more stable inlet pressure.
Riello's gas booster uses a belt-driven centrifugal impeller to provide this pressure increase without significant temperature rise, even against a stopped end.
High turndown capability creates a flat pressure curve, which avoids fluctuations in pressure at low flow rates.
The boosters are designed for continuous running, which is recommended to assist in minimising pressure fluctuation and has the further advantage of reducing wear and tear.
Riello offers a selection of accessories to assist installation: anti-vibration mountings and flexible gas connections to reduce stress on the booster and pipework and to minimise noise transmission; anti-surge reservoirs and non-return valves; control panels for custom installations, and acoustic hoods tailored to each model of burner.
Riello RB Gas Boosters are supplied as fully packaged units incorporating wiring interfaces for direct, error-free connection to Riello burners.
