Advance-Galatrek has just launched a unique onsite UPS and DC power supply maintenance package aimed at organisations running both Advance-Galatrek and competitor UPS and DC systems

Advance-Galatrek has just launched a unique onsite UPS and DC power supply maintenance package This latest initiative is aimed at organisations running both Advance-Galatrek and competitor UPS and DC systems installed within telecom, mobile, Internet and cable environments

In these highly critical applications, the power protection hardware generally installed on site is often very expensive and, as such, tends not to be replaced as regularly as components with a lower capital outlay.

With this in mind, Advance-Galatrek's new service is targeted directly at service managers' needs to keep costly plant fully maintained for lengthy durations.

Because of the mission critical nature of many UPS and DC power supply installations, this latest Advance-Galatrek package boosts a guaranteed two-hour on-site call out pledge.

This provides internal maintenance personnel with the added peace of mind that dealing with a reliable outsourced provider can ensure, and enables Field Service Managers to place full reliance on this new service offering.

The Advance-Galatrek UPS and DC power supply maintenance package can significantly enhance the overall life of a UPS, thanks to proper testing and battery replacement procedures.

In many cases, although batteries may have either a five or ten-year design life, there actual working life can be far shorter.

By identifying components that are reaching the end of their design life, the new maintenance package can considerably improve the serviceability of many other components.

The fact that the new service offers such a quick call out also helps to minimise the possibility of any further equipment damage or component degrad ation.

This is particularly relevant when identifying individual battery cell failure, especially within long duration battery sets.

Because any battery pack is only as good as its weakest cell, any failure or performance shortfall in a single cell can rapidly cause irretrievable damage to the performance of the remaining cells.

This often results in the need to replace the whole battery set at an earlier than expected date.

By extending its call-out package to cover third party devices not manufactured by Advance-Galatrek, the Company has pioneered an industry first.

In many cases, the devices covered by the call-out package would not otherwise remain serviceable, and would require costly and inconvenient replacement.

By extending their service life, Advance-Galatrek is helping to lower industry costs, as well as providing valuable reassurance to operators of all makes of UPS and DC power supply.

According to Colin Griffiths, Service and Contracts Manager at Advance-Galatrek, the new package will be of interest to Field Service Managers everywhere.

'The cost savings associated with this new package, together with our two hour on-site call out pledge, will provide huge benefit to all types of mission critical applications.

Users of third party hardware can now be certain that they will receive the same levels of service that Advance-Galatrek customers have been receiving for many years,' he said.
