Elite UPSs use digital online technology, making them ideal for mission-critical applications where heavy electrical pollution, spikes and noise can affect the the performance of crucial equipment.

Advance Galatrek's latest range of Elite UPSs features digital online technology, making them ideal for mission-critical applications where heavy electrical pollution, spikes and noise can affect the performance of crucial equipment.

This latest innovation uses an inverter to continuously power the connected load with an EMI filtered, stabilised and regulated sinewave power supply.

Online technology makes the new Elite range suitable for locations such as industrial and manufacturing sites - indeed, any installation where undesirable surges, spikes and noise in the mains supply are likely to occur as a result of adjacent heavy plant interfering with the quality of the mains.

LANs, servers, data centres and comms installations situated in this type of environment are more likely to suffer from data processing errors and hardware damage as a consequence of such mains borne irregularities.

Elite models make use of front-end power factor correction (PFC) circuitry to achieve a true sinewave output, while the robust on-line design gives each unit superior reliability and stability.

The optional PowerShield2 UPS management software uses the TCP/IP communications protocol to manage and monitor the unit across the widest possible range of platforms and operating systems.

The software interface displays information in the form of bar charts, and digital values for critical UPS data including mains voltage, UPS load and battery charge percentage.

A wide range of Elite models is available with capacities encompassing 700 to 5000VA, enabling users to select the ideal version for installations such as industrial PCs, point of sale systems, emergency lighting and alarm applications, medical appliances and telecommunications devices.

Because these types of load are particularly sensitive to even small transient surges in the mains power supply, all Elite models feature a high level of surge immunity.

This built in protection can also be augmented by the fitment of one of Advance Galatrek's range of StrikeSafe TVSS (transient voltage surge suppressors).

The 5kVA Elite model incorporates a built-in maintenance bypass, which allows the UPS to be powered down, or even removed, without causing disruption to the load.

Because the bypass allows the mains to be routed externally from the UPS, the load continues to receive the correct supply even when the UPS is powered down.

Advance Galatrek also offers separate wall mounted maintenance bypasses as an accessory, featuring both manual and automatic transfer, and providing optional transient protection.

All models in the range feature Advance Galatrek's innovative cold-start facility, which enables the UPS to power up and provide battery operation without being connected to a mains supply.

This capability is invaluable in circumstances where any form of mains intervention is unavailable or cannot be relied upon.

Also available is a range of battery extension packs, designed to complement each Elite model, and featuring built-in chargers to maximise their available capacity.

These units can boost Elite's running time from between 8 and 11min at full load up to a maximum of 4h.

Used in conjunction with one of the Elite range, these units are ideal for situations where mission-critical equipment needs to be kept running without the benefit of a mains supply, rather than being shut down in an orderly manner.
