Lubricants display "food-safe" status
The ability to see at a glance whether NSF-registered food-grade products are being used makes it easier to keep the manufacturing environment safe.
Part of the Northern Foods group, Pork Farms Bowyers manufactures leading UK pie and sausage brands at factories in Nottingham and Trowbridge, as well as supplying own label products to major retailers.
Featherstone says: "I was looking for high performance products that would extend lubrication intervals".
"I'd come across Rocol products in a previous role so I knew what they were capable of".
"We ran tests to compare the Rocol Foodlube products against the greases we were using and discovered a vast improvement in performance terms from the Foodlube products".
He adds: "We're now switching stocks over to Rocol products and I'm extremely confident of the benefits they will deliver".
The firm has also implemented the Rocolcare complete lubrication management package over recent months which, according to Featherstone, provides additional peace of mind that every piece of equipment is being effectively maintained: "I look after planned maintenance and it can be very difficult to keep track of when individual machine components were last lubricated".
"Rocolcare is extremely helpful because it tells me exactly what has been done and when".
"And because Rocol products extend component life the job doesn't have to be done as often, saving valuable time and resources".
