Combining food-safe products and a complete lubrication management package, Rocol Lubricants has streamlined lubricants spend and use for a high profile Scottish whisky distiller.

Glenmorangie distributes to more than 120 markets worldwide from one of only a few fully integrated whisky plants in the UK, located at Broxburn.

The plant houses a cooperage, cask warehousing, bottling, blending, sales, marketing and administrative functions on a single site with a production capacity of approximately three million 9-litre cases per year.

Says Chas McEwan, Asset Care Manager at Glenmorangie: "Two years ago, we were using a variety of lubricants from numerous different suppliers".

"Following a survey of our production lines, we decided to switch to Foodlube products as well as using the Rocolcare lubrication management package to manage lubrication scheduling".

The Foodlube range is a comprehensive collection of bearing greases, chain lubricants, gearbox, hydraulic and compressor fluids designed specifically for the food industry.

Every product within the range is NSF H1 registered as food-safe and uses only FDA listed ingredients in its formulation.

Rocolcare is a complete lubrication management package that covers everything from daily lubrication tasks and reporting to equipment signage, labelling and operator training.

Glenmorangie has contracted lubrication management at the Broxburn plant out to Rocol, which runs the Rocolcare maintenance package on its behalf.

McEwan adds: "We've been running Rocolcare and Foodlube products in tandem across the bottling hall for two years now and have seen considerable benefits".

"Buying a single product from a single supplier has streamlined our lubrication spend and led to considerable cost savings".

"I also have the added peace of mind that every piece of machinery is being lubricated effectively".
