Foodlube manufacturer Rocol Lubricants has used its 100 years experience in the food manufacturing sector to create a bespoke package for the meat and meat products industry.

Foodlube manufacturer Rocol Lubricants has used its 100 years experience in the food manufacturing sector to create a bespoke package for the meat and meat products industry, designed to help companies achieve key cost, production and food safety benefits.

The move formalises the offering from Rocol which includes the Foodlube range of high performance NSF H1 registered lubricants linked with its Rocolcare total lubrication management programme.

This has proved an extremely successful combination in itself and one which some of the meat industry's leading companies are already taking full advantage of, including Pork Farms Bowyers and Cranswick Country Foods.

The Rocol meat industry package is aimed at bringing effective solutions to everyday production issues, with a view to delivering long term efficiency savings in an optimum food-safe environment.

In its Foodlube range, Rocol has a market leading selection of lubricants for applications throughout the production line, from the extremes of high temperature ovens to low temperature chilling and storage.

Typical of the solutions available in the Rocol meat industry package is Foodlube Overhead Chain Fluid.

With its nondrip, anticorrosion formula which offers the highest penetration and wash-off resistance, this is perfect for chains and rails that are subjected constantly to the heaviest carcass loads.

These performance characteristics plus many others prevail throughout the entire Rocol meat industry package and are typified in Foodlube Chain Spray - ideal for slicers and some packing machinery - and Foodlube Hi-Power which offers an excellent solution for formers and chillers/freezers.

Rachael Nevins, Commercial Director for the Maintenance Division of Rocol Lubricants says: "In our Foodlube range, our development team continues to demonstrate how well we understand the challenges that the meat and meat products industry faces everyday".

"But our expertise goes beyond simply offering superior product formulations".

"Our approach is about working in partnership with food producers to deliver long term benefits in a food-grade environment, helping them to reduce maintenance cycles, maximise efficiency, eliminate the contamination risk and ultimately provide significant cost savings".

Providing an overview of how the Foodlube range can benefit meat and meat products manufacturers, Rocol has produced a special lubrication guide for the sector.

Although this covers many important issues and applications, a more comprehensive assessment of how lubrication can be managed more effectively is provided by Rocol under the package's Rocolcare programme.

Rocolcare is a premium service which is vital to maximise the benefits that Foodlube offers.

It is a complete lubrication management programme which establishes all the safe lubrication needs of the production facility with a detailed initial survey.

From this, Rocol produces a programme to rationalise the lubricant range and usage via its lubrication management software package which produces daily or weekly reports for engineers to ensure correct lubrication of plant and machines at all times.

An additional service provided within the meat industry package comes in the team of service engineers who can conduct all the necessary tasks for customers according to their Rocolcare programme, taking away the hassle of having to ensure the right product is applied at the right time and facilitating a preventive maintenance approach.
