A new micro welding option and material-specific pulse shaping are useful in many industrial applications in the manufacture of medical devices, sensors, electronics, moulds and tools, dental implants, fine mechanics and jewellery and also in R and D and training.

The manual welding laser can weld extremely thin foils or wires of the order of 10um thick or copper with a thickness up to 1mm.

For the finest welds, pulses with several hundred microsecond duration can be used - with an unequalled pulse-to-pulse stability.

Pulses of up to 50ms duration allow deep welds with no surface damage.

The individually programmable pulse shaping enables very demanding welds in alloys, aluminium and copper, as well as accurate building of bridging geometries.

The pulse spectrum ranges from 0.1 to 100J.

The sweet spot resonator developed by Rofin-Baasel Lasertech allows welding of highly reflective materials like copper or silver - almost all kinds of alloys and other metals can be welded.

Rofin-Baasel Lasertech offers an easy route into these manufacturing techniques using this laser.

At the same time, it also delivers high-end quality and can be used in prototyping and small batch production.

In addition, three-axis systems for easy movement and positioning of work pieces can be integrated.

Its ergonomic design, which is optimised for all working aspects, is the outstanding feature of this laser.

This, and the collinear optical cross hair enable fatigue-free and reproducible working.

All parameters can be easily set and stored via joystick in the working chamber.

The handling of the StarWeld Manual/Performance is amazingly easy; even first-time users working at a manual workstation for laser welding will be astonished at how rapidly successful welds can be made.

An evaluation scheme is available for prospective users.

This attractive leasing offer involves delivery of a turnkey welding system, installation and as expert instruction.

The majority of the lease charge can be credited against the subsequent purchase of the unit.
