Enclosed lasers offer safer parts
marking
Rofin has introduced the SL-Manual (SLM) series of Class 1 laser safe enclosures suitable for any of its popular Starmark or Powerline E laser sources.
As part of the world's leading industrial laser manufacturing group, Rofin-Baasel UK offers the largest range of sources for laser marking, including Nd:YVO4 (Vanadate), Nd:YAG (lamp- and diode-pumped) and CO2 To house these units, Rofin has introduced the SL-Manual (SLM) series of Class 1 laser safe enclosures suitable for any of its popular Starmark or Powerline E laser sources

All SLM models feature integrated keyboard, trackpad and TFT flat screen monitor.
Laser supply units are fully housed within the frame meaning that there are fewer trailing cables, thus simplifying installation.
Indeed, if one of Rofin's efficient diode-pumped lasers is chosen, the only service required is a single-phase electricity supply.
The SLM is designed to function as an ergonomic seated work place, with their compact footprint making most efficient use of valuable production space.
The use of modern manufacturing methods and common parts across the range reduce cost while maintaining the quality customers have come to expect from Rofin's products.
The standard SLM model features a large viewing window, internal illumination and software-controlled, stepper motor driven z-axis for focus adjustment.
The lowest cost SLM-EC unit has a fixed laser (a manual scissor jack or similar may be used for positioning parts) and when combined with one of Rofin's lamp pumped lasers, provides a very economical laser marking solution without sacrificing performance.
For higher volume production requirements, the SLM-TT uses a 500mm diameter turntable to enable parts to be loaded in one fixture while others are marked in an identical fixture on the opposite side.
The turntable is pneumatically operated with a compressor built in to the frame so that no external air supply in needed.
For even higher throughput, the SLM-TT El offers an electrically driven turntable with an integrated light curtain for safety.
Customer-specific workpiece carriers can be provided, while other options include motorised stages such as rotary units for marking cylindrical parts and linear units (with one or more axes) for extending the marking field for larger parts for batches.
