Couplings are crucial to temporary power
Halifax-based Renold Hi-Tec Couplings has helped provide temporary power for what is claimed to be the world's largest floating oil production, storage and off-loading unit.
Specially designed to operate in extreme temperatures from -50 to +200C, the HTB is already the specifier's choice in a wide variety of applications including diesel engine bell housings, generator sets, marine propulsion, rail traction and compressors.
The novel blind assembly configuration and high temperature capability of the HTB allow easy assembly and operation in bell housing applications, while its severe shock load protection capability avoids driveline failure under short circuit and other transient conditions.
The HTB requires no lubrication or adjustment and provides quiet operation under all running conditions.
The extension to the HTB size range and the introduction of the HTB UJ complement an already comprehensive selection of rubber-in-compression and rubber-in-shear couplings developed by Renold Hi-Tec for the complete range of diesel and industrial applications.
