A new blind-assembly coupling, with torque overload protection, is capable of operating in temperatures up to 200C.

A new blind-assembly coupling, with torque overload protection, that is capable of operating in temperatures up to 200C has been launched by Renold Hi-Tec Couplings.

The HTBTOP coupling is the latest addition to the company's HTB range which was originally launched in 1999.

Since then over 4000 units have been sold, and the range has been expanded to include eight frame sizes suitable for torques up to 40kNm.

The HTB range of rubber-in-compression couplings are intrinsically failsafe and are designed for use in diesel engine bell housings where ambient temperatures are likely to be high.

The couplings are easy to assemble - one half simply plugs into the other without the need for fasteners, and hence the term "blind assembly".

Typical applications for the new coupling include marine propulsion systems, pump sets and compressor sets.
