Compact starter installs easily and
reliably

Rockwell Automation announces the Allen-Bradley 190S Compact Starter, a range of combination starters comprising a 140M motor protection circuit breaker and 100C contactor

Complete Automation leader Rockwell Automation, announces the Allen-Bradley 190S Compact Starter, a range of combination starters rated up to 25A (11kW) The 190S comprises a 140M motor protection circuit breaker and 100C contactor

These are assembled into single unit to provide a low-cost, self protected, direct-on-line starter.

The contactor and circuit breaker are pre-assembled and pre-wired onto a base.

The connections to the auxiliary contacts for both the circuit breaker and contactor are brought out to a built-in terminal block.

Coil terminals are also at the base of the assembly, making the unit quick to install, minimising wiring and reducing consumables such as trunking and cable.

Starters are suitable for screw fixing or can be mounted to one or two DIN rails.

They can be installed vertically in an open wardrobe style, or horizontally for compact MCC applications.

Starters are only 45mm wide and can be installed without a gap between them, reducing panel space, engineering and wiring time.

The result is an enhanced design with the minimum of exposed wiring.

Motor protection is provided by the Allen-Bradley 140M circuit breaker.

This provides precise motor protection and allows Type 2 co-ordination to be achieved across the range up to 11kW (25A), without oversizing the contactor.

Unlike fuses, the trip characteristics of the circuit breaker do not change with age or use, providing accurate and reliable motor protection through the life of the installation.

The 140M has a front mounted n/o and n/c contact as standard and can be specified with one n/o and one trip as an alternative.

Accessories available include comb busbar, side mounted auxiliary contact and undervoltage or shunt release.

The Allen-Bradley 100C - Modular Control System (MCS) range of contactors is rated up to 11kW for motor duty and can be supplied with either an AC or DC coil.

It has one n/o or n/c auxiliary contact as standard.

The 190S Compact Starter is supplied fully assembled to save installation time.

This is particularly important where multiple units are being installed in a panel or MCC.

There are no linking cables to prepare and connections are always correctly configured to reduce troubleshooting during commissioning.

The connections are fully shielded for safety, giving the unit an enhanced unitary appearance.

The starters conform to international standards and are UL Listed to 508E making them suitable for a wide variety of industrial applications including pumps, fans and conveyors.

They provide a safe, reliable and cost effective direct-on-line starter combination, suitable for global use and affording the very highest level of protection for modern motors.

The 190S Compact Starter represents yet another key product addition to the highly successful Allen-Bradley MCS, providing technically superior and highly competitive products for motor control applications up to 420A. Request a free brochure from Rockwell Automation Anorad ...
