PLC programming linked to schematics
software

The new RSWire I/O Builder from Rockwell Automation is an application designed to significantly reduce the time and effort involved in control and motion system design.

The new RSWire I/O Builder from Rockwell Automation is an application designed to significantly reduce the time and effort involved in control and motion system design It seamlessly integrates the Rockwell Automation Logix programming software with RSWire, the powerful package for producing electrical schematics, 3-D panel layouts and support documentation

With RSWire I/O builder, users can create a programmable logic system that can be sent directly to an RSLogix editor or create I/O schematics automatically in RSWire, using the RSWire Automation interface.

A major benefit is that the process of defining a system with I/O Builder avoids the need to enter the same data twice for two different applications, saving time and reducing errors.

With its easy to use interface, I/O Builder steps designers through the system configuration, allowing the selection of a Logix family processor type, racks and the input or output modules from user defined boxes.

I/O Builder automatically assigns the correct addresses to the I/O points and allows the user to add the tag database symbol and description.

With its spreadsheet style interface, it also allows information to be cut and pasted into I/O Builder from other spreadsheets.

Once the I/O points are defined, it is simple to add devices.

The RSWire parts database allows users to add manufacturers' catalogue numbers to the connecting devices automatically.

A system parts list can then be viewed in I/O Builder for use in creating a Bill of Material or Purchase Order.

After assigning a RSWire project and appending the I/O schematic drawings, it is possible to customise page templates from set-up information already defined in RSWire.

When the I/O schematics are created, I/O Builder inserts the I/O module and connected devices, then places a wire between them, connecting the device to the correct address.

The description information is also applied to the module addresses.

Users of Allen-Bradley PLCs have always had the best range of equipment for factory automation available anywhere.

Now with RSWire I/O Builder they also have a dynamic tool that will raise their productivity levels considerably higher than their competitors. Request a free brochure from Rockwell Automation ...
