Compact industrial computer boasts
full-size power

New options for the Allen-Bradley RAC6181 industrial computer provide similar power and expandability to full-sized industrial computers.

New options for the Allen-Bradley RAC6181 industrial computer provide similar power and expandability to full-sized industrial computers The RAC6181 offers a compact and cost effective package that is only half the size of most industrial computers in its class

It is part of the rugged RAC6000 family of high performance industrial computers that are built for speed, reliability, flexibility and ease of upgrade.

New options include a keypad bezel version with TFT display to provide an integrated and enhanced operator interface, Pentium III CPU cards up to 866MHz for faster performance and the option of a four slot chassis to provide additional expansion opportunities.

The new version features function keys and keypad integrated into the surround of the 12.1-inch TFT flat panel display.

There are two sets of programmable function keys - F1 to F14 and K1 to K20 - as well as a numeric keypad.

The preinstalled keypad configuration utility allows the new keypad to be quickly configured.

An additional option is to combine the enhanced functionality of the keypad bezel with a resistive analogue touch-screen display.

This powerful and flexible combination provides almost unlimited operator interface options.

For applications where a more powerful processor is required, the RAC6181 is now available with super fast Pentium III CPU cards and a choice of 866, 733 or 600MHz processors.

These higher power CPUs provide unrivalled speed, performance and stability for industrial applications such as HMI software, soft control or data acquisition.

The increased processing power provides greater expansion possibilities and the new four-slot chassis provides an additional PCI and ISA slot.

Two PCI slots, one ISA slot and one shared PCI/ISA slot are now available.

To accommodate large and complex applications, the RAC6181 is available with either a 30 or 60Gbyte shock-mounted hard drive.

To meet the increasing demand for HMIs for use in "thin" client applications, it can also be supplied without a hard drive.

The RAC 6181 panel mount computer is nearly half the size of most industrial computers in its class and the power supply, expansion slots and peripherals are all connected from the side of the unit to minimise its depth.

Measuring only 260 x 324 x 140mm, it is particularly suitable for situations where panel depth, size and weight can limit installation options.

All Allen-Bradley RAC6000 series industrial computers are designed to resist shock, vibration, dirt, high-pressure water jets and extreme temperatures found in harsh environments.

The RAC6181 is rated to IP65, has an operating temperature range of 5-50C and is Class 1, Division 2 certified for use in hazardous areas.

The Allen-Bradley RAC6181 industrial computer is compact, competitively priced and suitable for a wide variety of applications.

Its increased power and expandability mean it is suitable for many more complex and demanding applications. Request a free brochure from Rockwell Automation Anorad ...
