The new Allen-Bradley 100D range of contactors is rated from 95 to 860A.

The new Allen-Bradley 100D range of contactors is rated from 95 to 860A The 100D range replaces the existing CAB6 series and offers increased current rating and improved safety

Users also benefit from the added protection of Rockwell Automation's recently launched 193EF/E3 overload relays, which have been specially designed to complement the 100D.

The 100D range is available in three compact frame sizes to cover ratings from 95 to 180A, 210 to 420A and 630 to 860A.

Side mount auxiliary contacts and mechanical/electrical interlocks are common throughout and there is a wide range of coil voltages including AC and DC to give flexibility of control.

The contactors also feature selectable electronic interface modules, which allow them to be switched from a PLC or other low signal source without the need for a relay.

This reduces the number of components in a panel thereby saving space and reducing costs.

Other accessories include sub assemblies consisting of power wiring kits and pre-drilled mounting plates for reversing, star-delta, two-speed and changeover switch applications, making the 100D quick and easy to configure for a wide range of applications.

The new range of Allen-Bradley 193-EF and E3 electronic motor protection relays have been specifically designed for direct coupling to the 100D, offering sophisticated protection with advanced alarm, control and diagnostic functions, and providing two levels of motor protection.

Quick and easy to install, the 193-EF allows DIP switch adjustments for precise configuration for a wide range of motors and applications including submersible pumps, refrigeration compressors and rock crushers.

The relays are compact and have a small footprint, meaning they can be tightly packed inside a panel, saving valuable space and improving heat dissipation.

New features include thermal overload, phase loss and an adjustable trip class range of between 2-30s.

This is combined with integrated thermistor monitoring that removes the need for an additional relay, tripping the device when temperatures rise because of motors overheating.

The 193-E3 is DeviceNet-ready, providing access to performance data and offering advanced control for fault finding.

In addition to the functionality of the 193-EF, the E3 version provides enhanced prewarning functionality including overload, underload and ground faults so that preventative measures can be taken, improving equipment life and helping to reduce downtime.

The Allen-Bradley contactor range provides OEMs and manufacturers with a complete range of compact and modern contactors.

The introduction of the 100D extends the current rating to 860A - and with the additional protection of the 193EF/E3 overload relays - makes it a safe and reliable option.
