Most popular components in the Allen-Bradley Modular Control System (MCS) Plus range are now available with the option of spring clamp terminals Allen-Bradley 140M circuit breakers, 100-C contactors and 700-CF control relays up to 16A can now be specified with this reliable, shock- and vibration-proof connection technology as an alternative to screw terminals

Spring clamp terminals offer users and panel builders many advantages.

Secure connections can be made quickly yet reliably every time, with no risk of under or over tightening screws.

All terminals are accessible from the front and, to make a connection a panel builder or maintenance technician only needs to push the terminal open with a screwdriver, insert the wire and pull out the screwdriver.

For each terminal, two wires can be connected and disconnected independently.

A constant contact force is then maintained throughout the life of the assembly, with no need to check and retighten screws.

As well as causing poor performance or complete electrical failure, loose connections can lead to overheating and possibly fire.

As a result, spring clamps are especially suitable for remote locations where access for maintenance can be difficult and or installations subject to frequent vibration.

The new Allen-Bradley spring clamp circuit breakers, contactors and control relays reduce installation time and cost, while producing a secure, maintenance-free connection every time.
