Data acquisition for Rockwell Software's RSBizWare
The Historian module extends the reporting, analysis and management capabilities of the RSBizWare foundation by providing a powerful set of tools to analyse a wide variety of time-series data.
To demonstrate how its range of software can turn these challenges into competitive advantages, Rockwell Automation is holding another in its series of popular Rockwell Software RSTechED events.
Organised in association with Microsoft, RSTechED 2004 takes place in Berlin on 29th and 30th September and, over two days of seminars, presentations and hands-on workshops, offers a detailed insight into Rockwell Software's market leading products.
As a Certified Microsoft Partner, Rockwell Software uses the latest NET technology to allow sharing of information by connecting applications via web services.

Alarm Notification for Human Machine Interface
RSView32 Messenger can alert plant engineers and maintenance personnel, who may be located out of the immediate area, to system alarms so users can take appropriate action immediately.
Radical new approach to motion control?
While traditional motion control systems typically have their own proprietary text based programming languages, ControlLogix uses standard 'ladder logic' programming.
This ensures all Rockwell Software tools connect easily and seamlessly with each other and a wide range of business software employed elsewhere in the manufacturing enterprise.
The focus of RSTechED 2004 will be Rockwell Software's RSBizware suite of manufacturing execution system (MES) level software and its multi-client, multi-server RSView SE visualisation system.
Also featured this year will be FactoryTalk, Rockwell Automation's unique enabling technology that allows Rockwell Software and Allen-Bradley products to seamlessly exchange data and share applications.
This event will be of particular value to plant, IT, production and operations managers in highly regulated industries such as food and beverage, pharmaceutical and life sciences, as well as systems integrators and OEMs serving these sectors.
The two-day programme, which will be conducted in English, includes: Microsoft seminars on data security and NET technology; access control and tracking using RSMACC change management software; solutions for process industries based on RSBatch S88-based batch control software; the power of integrating applications using FactoryTalk; presentations on the RSBizware suite - RSSql, Scheduler, PlantMetrics, Historian, Bizware SPC, RS Tracker and RS Coordinator; tours of the Business Solution Suite to see RSBizware in action; and hands-on labs covering development of RSBizware and RSView SE applications.
The event takes place at Berlin's Steigenberger Hotel, where special rates for delegates are available.
A riverboat trip has been arranged for the evening of 29th September, and there will be ample opportunities over the two days to meet and socialise with around 200 colleagues from manufacturing industry.
