Rockwell Automation is inviting OEMs, system integrators and end users around Europe to learn about the latest developments in automation and information technology.

Rockwell Automation is inviting OEMs, system integrators and end users around Europe to learn about the latest developments in automation and information technology at the manufacturing events of the year In 2004 over 1000 customers attended these events and for 2005, Automation University will also incorporate RSTechED to form a series of two-day events covering the complete range of automation and information solutions

Automation University incorporating RSTechED (Rockwell Software solutions) will use seminars, presentations and hands-on workshops to show systems integrators, OEMs and end users how Rockwell Automation's Integrated Architecture approach can help to address some of the key issues facing European manufacturing industries and how advanced software tools can help to close the gap between plant floor and ERP systems.

Also included are one-to-one consultancy sessions with our experts, an exhibition of solutions, products and services offered by Rockwell Automation and its partners, as well as the opportunity to network with other delegates.

Of benefit to new and existing Rockwell Automation customers anywhere in Europe, the events will be held in the UK on 11th and 12th May, in Denmark on 25th and 26th May, in the Czech Republic on 1st and 2nd June and in Italy during October 2005.

All events will be in English except the one in Italy, which will be conducted in Italian.

Key topics covered at this event include: programmable controllers (Logix); speed and position control solutions; design and use of EtherNet/IP networks; solutions for midrange control applications (CompactLogix); on-machine solutions; ViewAnyWare common visualisation platform; intelligent motor control; customer support and maintenance initiatives; access control and tracking (RSMACC Asset Management Solutions); solutions for process industries (RSBatch S88-based batch control software and the S95 compliant tracking module); the power of integrating applications using FactoryTalk; and presentations and hands-on sessions on the RSBizware suite.

Automation University incorporating RSTechED will use more than 40 training sessions and case study presentations and more than 20 practical workshops each day to provide detailed insights into the latest technology from Rockwell Automation and its Encompass partners.

This event offers the opportunity to find out how Rockwell Automation's integrated architecture brings together an outstanding range of pre-integrated components and systems.

They can also learn how they can be applied to reduce costs, improve productivity and boost overall equipment effectiveness, enabling companies to respond more quickly to customer or market demands.

This is complemented by the comprehensive Rockwell software lineup of programming, visualisation, manufacturing execution and plant efficiency software that provides all the control, configuration and data collection functions required for efficient production.

Using FactoryTalk, Rockwell Automation's unique enabling technology based on Microsoft technology, this integrated hardware and software is able to seamlessly exchange data, reducing the time required to configure a system and ensuring information is always available in the right place at the right time.

There will also be sessions with a focus on key industry sectors, such as food, brewing and beverage, life sciences, and automotive, with case study presentations by leading global manufacturers on their industry experiences.

There will also be a social programme for delegates and partners to allow plenty of opportunities to meet and network with around 400 colleagues from the industry.

Attendance at the manufacturing event of the year is free, but places are limited and are expected to fill up quickly.
