Rockwell Automation has just secured an order from RWE npower for a control system upgrade project at Littlebrook Power Station in Dartford, London.

The order encompasses system design, build installation and commissioning of a new ControlLogix architecture with dual redundancy.

It is split into three phases - the final two being contract options that can be invoked at the end of 2006 and 2007, respectively.

Dean Phipps, Rockwell Automation's Account Manager, explains: "This is a major win for Rockwell Automation in a strategically important market and enhances our reputation within the UK power industry".

ControlLogix is a powerful controller providing a superior approach to many types of control applications.

It allows users to perform sequential, process, drive or motion control - in any combination - with a single system.

Being a modular system it is ideal for individual machines or large integrated control architectures and its flexible communications architecture allows easy connection to intelligent plant devices, other control systems and high-level computer systems.
