Investment in excess of US $18.5 million has expanded the Kaydon bearing manufacturing site in Sumter County, USA, prompting the creation of 50 new jobs.

Demand for Kaydon bearing products worldwide has never been greater and this move will ensure the company can easily absorb this growth.

Kaydon is the acknowledged leader in thin-section bearing technology and its sales and marketing interests are represented in the UK, Ireland and Scandinavia by precision components supplier RA Rodriguez (UK).

The Kaydon Reali-Slim and Ultra-Slim brands are ideal for applications that call for low weight and compact size but also high performance.

Since opening in 1991, the Sumter County facility has performed at a very high level and Kaydon has attracted a workforce whose skills are crucial to the continued success of Kaydon bearing products.

"The expansion of this site is good news for our customers", concludes David Hey of RA Rodriguez (UK).

"It ensures our lead times remain good in the face of growing demand and provides greater opportunity for product customisation".
