The Rogers Corp Poron urethane foam manufacturing facility in Woodstock, Connecticut, has been recognised with the Star designation by the OSHA Voluntary Protection Programme.

The Rogers Corp Poron urethane foam manufacturing facility in Woodstock, Connecticut, has been recognised with the Star designation by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration's (OSHA's) Voluntary Protection Programme (VPP) for excellent safety performance and systems The Star designation, OSHA's highest VPP award, is an honour given facilities that have met the highest standards in employee and workplace safety

To receive the Star designation, employees must recognise and understand workplace hazards and consistently use the proper protective gear to avoid injuries.

Managers must also demonstrate leadership in safety and health issues and a strong commitment to effective safety training.

Only about 1100 worksites nationwide and about 50 in New England have received the award.

Pete Kaczmarek, Vice President, High Performance Foams, stated: "I am very proud of the efforts and success of the Rogers Woodstock team".
