L Robinson and Co clips were used to secure top and bottom brackets to 350 flagpoles representing over 160 countries at the World Scout Jamboree.

L Robinson and Co has supplied 700 mild steel Jubilee clips and six of its special Clipdriver tools free of charge for use at the recent 21st World Scout Jamboree held at Hylands Park in Chelmsford.

The clips were used to secure top and bottom brackets to 350 flagpoles representing over 160 countries at the event.

Displayed the length of the main avenue entrance and around the central arena, the flags were raised and lowered once a day with 4000m of cord being passed through the brackets.

Originally the Scout Association had experimented with eye bolts to secure the flags but these compromised the integrity of the poles.

The Jubilee clips proved to be more efficient and also allowed the Association to hire poles as opposed to purchasing them.

The organisers expressed their thanks to L Robinson for the clips and remarked on the useful addition of the Clipdriver, a rigid shaft tool, designed for easy adjustment of Jubilee clips, which made life easier during build-up.

Jubilee were also able to respond to a last minute panic, when it was realised that clip sizes originally requested needed to be re-supplied in a different size.

Keith Walker, representing the Scout Association, said of Jubilee, "We asked them to accept a big thank you for their generous support and for the speed with which the subject was progressed, we were very impressed and very pleased".
