Roemheld unveils vice jaws for five-axis machining

A Roemheld product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Oct 16, 2008

Roemheld has introduced a range of Hilma vice jaws that have been specifically developed for use in five-axis machining applications.

The range includes step jaws to enable secure machining on a hold of just 3mm, enabling maximum savings on raw material.

The new Vee jaw with interchangeable insets allows cylindrical workpieces, from 10 - 80mm in diameter, to be machined safely.

The range is available in jaw widths of 60, 80, 100 and 120mm.

The jaws enable smaller components to be clamped in standard vices as the range reduces jaw widths in three sizes per vice (for example, 120mm vice jaws are available in 30, 60 and 80mm widths as standard).

The range is completed by aluminium and steel soft jaws that remove the need for costly special jaws as the end user can simply machine the correct component profile directly onto the jaws.

Bill Neal, managing director for Roemheld, said: 'This range of jaws is designed to complement our Hilma five-axis vice range and enable customers to achieve more from their production cycle.
